Summer Financial Aid at UIC
Degree-seeking students enrolled in summer courses at UIC will be automatically considered for summer financial aid if they have a current FAFSA on file. No separate application is required. Please note that all summer sessions are considered one term for financial aid purposes.
Eligibility Requirements
- Undergraduate and Graduate Students: Must be enrolled in at least 5 credit hours
- Professional Students: Must be enrolled in at least 6 credit hours
Available Aid for Undergraduate Students
- Federal Pell Grant (if eligible)
- Remaining annual federal loan eligibility
Please note: MAP Grants and the UIC Opportunity Grant are not available during the summer term.
Undergraduate Loan Eligibility
- If you have already accepted your full federal loan eligibility during the fall and spring semesters, you will not be eligible for additional summer loan funding.
- If you declined your loans during the academic year, they may be offered again for summer.
Graduate Students
Graduate students who have accepted their full federal loan eligibility during the academic year may be offered a Graduate PLUS Loan up to their remaining Cost of Attendance.
Note: The Graduate PLUS Loan is subject to credit approval.
