Summer Financial Aid

There is no separate application for summer financial aid; all degree-seeking students who enroll in summer courses with a current FAFSA will be automatically considered. All summer sessions count as one term.

To be eligible for summer aid, undergraduate and graduate students must register for at least 5 credit hours, while professional students need at least 6 credit hours.

Please note that summer financial aid is limited to the Federal Pell Grant and remaining loan eligibility. MAP and UIC Opportunity are not available during the summer session.

If you declined your loans during the fall and spring semesters, they will be offered again during the summer.

If you accept your full loan eligibility during the fall and spring semesters, you will not be eligible for summer aid.
