FERPA
Pursuant to the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) of 1974, the University cannot disclose personally identifiable information contained in the student's education records without the student's written consent. A parent does not automatically have the right to view his/her child's records without the express written/electronic consent of the student, unless that parent can provide proof that the student is still a dependent for income tax purposes. View the complete UIC Student Records Policy here.
Students may grant any third party (e.g., spouse, parent and/or sponsor) permission to access their financial aid records by completing the FERPA Release Form online. Please visit the Registrar website to complete an electronic FERPA.
