Financial Aid

Federal Work-Study (FWS) is a financial aid program that provides funding for part time jobs for undergraduate and graduate students with financial need, allowing them to earn money to help pay education expenses. The program encourages community service work and work related to the recipient's course of study. It should be noted that students awarded FWS funds are not guaranteed a job, as they must still find a job on campus. The Office of Student Employment at UIC offers both FWS and regular student employment opportunities. Students who do not qualify for FWS can still work as regular student employees to earn money to help fund their education.

America Reads tutoring opportunities are also available at the OSFA for students with Federal Work-Study eligibility
